I just wanted to start by saying sorry – it took me longer than it should have to get these uploaded. But here they be.
The players found themselves freefalling in the airship to the water below, now face to tentacle with a Kraken. No time for a surprise round, roll for initiative! The battle commenced. Canons fired to no avail, as the Kraken has . . . spells?!? An Ice Storm rocks the boat, as sailors on the accompanying ships have their minds melted and/or taken over. A critical strike of a canonball sheds some light on . . . an Elder Brain? There’s an elder brain attached to the underside of the Kraken! The combat heats up, the Dragonborn Fighter leaps from the boat to latch to it’s face, sword stabbing into it’s eyes. Spells going back and forth from the Warlock and Bard, until the parties Druid is able to get on top of the Kraken. He then begins to realize . . . it’s undead! So he does what any good Druid would do, and use a rod of revive on it.
Except the spell only revives a creature that’s been dead for under 100 years. And it doesn’t work.
Oh that’s right, this book has and Elder Brain controlling an Ancient Lich Kraken. Spells and swords continue to damage it as more and more sailors perish. The Kraken is almost felled, before it pulls out it’s Ace – Power Word Kill. The druid falls over dead just before the Party Warlock’s spells hit him in the face, the fighter still clung to the nose of the beast stabbing at it’s eyes. The Elder Brain begins to panic as the remaining spells come flying at it, two mighty beast felled seconds apart . . .
And that’s when the mind controlled Bard began speaking in Abyssal . . .
Hope you all enjoy that, the Kraken was printed and painted by my amazing player The Leather Geek. We installed a new projector onto the ceiling for the water effects. We will see what happens now that we’ve finished the module (in our way, don’t use this as a guide for the module, we went off script at the end). More happened, but I’ll wait to update on that with a full write up. I just wanted to showcase the Kraken for you all.
